Had Lunch At The Beach With This Bird Today...

“Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence.

Summer passes and one remembers one's exuberance.

Autumn passes and one remembers one's reverence.

Winter passes and one remembers one's perseverance.”

-Yoko Ono

Resolved

2011 is the year of the clean closet(s).

So far, it's been a smooth go...thanks to one too many "Snow Days".

And here is a random photo of a cardinal on our bird feeder.

A Good Old Swede

I lost my Grandpa on Monday.
He went pretty unexpectedly.
I just assumed I'd see him out in the yard on one of his many tag-sale-find tractors this Spring but sadly, those days are gone. My grandparents have always been a key part of my life. They'd managed to fill in a place in me that might otherwise have been left empty.
I will forever be grateful to them for the years we spent together.
RIP Gramp.
You'll be missed.

Stewing

Mother Nature gave us 2 feet of snow...and we made Oyster Stew.

Um, it's still snowing.

(Just) Let It Snow (I guess)!

Snow...

....and then more snow....and more on the way.

I, hereby, surrender to Winter.

Especially, since it involves cozy Tuesday lunches with business partner.

Rice. Spice. Noodles.*

And a little shopping on the side.

Why. Ever. Not.*

*Those were references to 2 wonderful spots in Mystic, CT. Neither of whom have a website.

Happyyyyyyy Newwwww Yearrrrrrrrrr!

Pizza. Made at home - dough and all.

Champagne. Well, yeah.

It was a quiet night at our house but that is how we like it, nowadays.
We've been working so hard that it's the ONLY way for us.
We have big dreams for 2011.

And we hope you do, too!

1.1.11

Be sure and take time for the simple things in this life.

Like so...
